Accompong: “Caveat Emptor!” – Chief Richard Currie In Public Statement Of Non-Affiliation With JMIDS

“Where there is confusion, there is profit to be made.” – Noble Drew Ali

Chief Richard Currie of the Sovereign State of Accompong released a public notice today on Instagram denouncing any affiliation with the Jamaica Maroon International Development Society (JMIDS), a for-profit organization calling “upon all Jamaican Maroons… to invest in [it]”.

JMIDS appears to also go by the names “Jamaica International Maroon Foundation” and “Jamaica Maroon International Development Foundation” according to the homepage of its website (registered in early March), which also features a page displaying the recently ratified Maroon constitution.

It’s also worth noting that no information can be found anywhere on the website to identify its owner(s), administrator(s), member(s), or investor(s) – a red flag common among scams and other illicit operations.
