In a shocking speech at the George W. Bush Institute, the former United States president dropped a bombshell admission. In an attempt to criticize Russian president Vladimir Putin for the special military operation in Ukraine, Bush accidentally turned the criticism on himself and his decision to invade Iraq in 2003. Iraq, led by Saddam Hussein at the time, was accused of having “weapons of mass destruction” even though a United Nations inspection team had declared they found absolutely no evidence of the existence of WMDs just before the start of the invasion. Many have deemed the invasion of Iraq, which caused the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis (mostly innocent civilians) as unjustified and brutal. Some even calling for Bush to be tried for war crimes.

“In contrast, Russian elections are rigged. Political opponents are imprisoned or otherwise eliminated from participating in the electoral process. The result is an absence of checks and balances in Russia and the decision of one man to launch a wholly unjustified and brutal invasion of Iraq… I mean of Ukraine.
